Banking Integrations
Challenge
Monit's products were delivered as white-labeled experiences inside our banking partners' digital platforms. This meant every feature had to feel native to each bank while remaining flexible enough to support multiple banking providers and unique customer experiences.
I designed experiences for several digital banking ecosystems, including Q2, Apiture, and Jack Henry Banno, adapting our products to each platform's capabilities and design constraints.
Designing Across Platforms
Every integration required a different approach.
For platforms like Q2, I designed multiple implementation models, including:
Fully embedded iframe experiences
Legacy content blocks
Modern composable content blocks
Dashboard widgets that surfaced key insights at a glance
Each experience was tailored to the capabilities of the platform while maintaining a consistent Monit product experience across banking partners.
Custom Partner Experiences
Beyond platform integrations, I also created concepts and prototypes for prospective banking partners to demonstrate how Monit could integrate within their existing digital experiences.
This work included presentations and custom designs for organizations such as Royal Bank of Canada (PayEdge), TD Bank, and Capital One, helping communicate both the product vision and integration possibilities during partnership discussions.
Partner Collaboration
Designing for banking platforms required close collaboration with the institutions that would ultimately use and distribute the product.
Throughout the design process, I regularly presented concepts and prototypes to banking partners to gather feedback on workflows, feature priorities, and implementation needs. These conversations provided valuable insight into how different institutions operated and what their relationship managers needed to be successful.
Feedback often led to refinements in navigation, terminology, dashboard priorities, and embedded experiences to better align with each bank's goals while maintaining a scalable product for future partners.
Working directly with banking customers helped ensure our solutions solved real operational problems—not just design challenges—and strengthened my ability to balance user needs, stakeholder expectations, and technical constraints.
Outcome
Designing for multiple banking ecosystems strengthened my ability to balance consistency with flexibility. Every experience required adapting to different technical constraints, branding requirements, and user expectations while ensuring the product remained intuitive, scalable, and valuable for both banks and their customers.
